It has been a big couple of months for new attractions opening here along the Grand Strand, which is what we call our piece of coastal paradise stretching from the North Carolina border to Georgetown, South Carolina. It began with the opening of Market Common, an upscale retail complex with shops, restaurants & residential living. It is very nice and similar to what you would see in suburbs of a larger city. And just last month, the first ever Hard Rock Park opened!
To celebrate Hard Rock Park’s grand opening, the Eagles headlined opening weekend and played all of their greatest hit songs like “Take it Easy” and “Hotel California”. The Moody Blues played the second night with Myrtle Beach’s own Long Bay Symphony which I thought was spectacular.
And just between you and me, one of those groups may have stayed here at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes! As for the park itself, it is a very welcomed addition to the Grand Strand and hosts some great attractions. I don’t go crazy for rides but my favorite so far is the Nights in White Satin. I have not been on the Zeppelin yet but everyone says it’s a lot of fun.
